These rules are here to keep Shaiya Elden fair, friendly and playable for everyone. Staff may punish behavior that harms the server or its community even if the exact situation is not written word for word below.
Community Rules
- Be respectful. You must respect all users, regardless of your personal opinion about them. Treat others the way you want to be treated.
- No inappropriate language. Excessive profanity should be kept to a minimum. Derogatory, insulting, offensive or abusive language toward any user, staff member, character name or service is prohibited.
- No discrimination. Racism, xenophobia, hate speech, discrimination or similar behavior will not be tolerated on the server, in-game, Discord or any of our services.
- No spamming. Do not send many small messages or emotes one after another. Do not disrupt chat by spamming.
- No NSFW material. This is a community game server and not a place for adult, explicit, pornographic or other NSFW material, links, images or messages.
- No advertisements. We do not tolerate advertisements for other communities, servers, services, products or streams. Relevant video or art content may be posted only in approved media channels.
- No offensive names or profile pictures. You may be asked to change your name, character name or profile picture if staff considers it inappropriate. Refusing may lead to a permanent ban.
- No impersonating staff or players. Impersonating GM, GS, staff members, administrators or other players is forbidden. Using names such as GM, GS, [GM], [GS] or similar staff-related names will be punished.
- No server raiding. Raiding or mentions of raiding are not allowed and may result in an immediate ban.
- No direct or indirect threats. Threats toward the game server, staff or users involving DDoS, death, doxing, abuse or any other malicious threat are absolutely prohibited and may result in an instant ban.
- Follow Discord community guidelines. You must follow the Discord community guidelines: discord.com/guidelines.
- Do not join voice channels without permission. If a channel has a free spot, you may join and ask if you can stay, but leave if your presence is not wanted by the people already there.
- Behavior with staff members. Be respectful and considerate when communicating with staff. Interrupting staff events, disturbing staff communication or spreading rumors about staff is not allowed. Report staff abuse privately to administration with proof.
- Behavior with other players. Spreading negative rumors, accusing, denouncing, harassing or abusing other players is not allowed. If you have a complaint, take screenshots or videos and report it to staff.
- Language usage. We are an international server. You may speak any language, but English must be used in Trade, Raid and Map chats. Private messages, party, normal chat and language chats are excluded.
PvP and Gameplay Rules
- Camping and base killing. Do not excessively grief another player. You may break their base or kill them a few times only with melee-ranged characters, but do not troll them around the map by killing them constantly.
- Spawn killing and safe zones. Spawn killing and entering the opposite faction's base, castle, stronghold or safe zone is not allowed and may result in instant jail. The opposing faction's base or safe zone is defined by anything behind the most forward yellow-named guard.
- Portal killing and camping. Portal killing means repeatedly killing users from the opposite faction while they are loading into the current zone. Killing players before they can step out of the portal is not allowed.
- Team helping. If another player is in critical danger, you should help and assist them. Example: if a low-level player is attacked by a rival side, raid or boss, you should step in and try to help.
- Unwanted nicknames. If someone gives you a nickname, also known as AKA, such as "my nub", "sho" or similar, and you do not like it, they should stop. If they do not stop, contact staff.
- Hacks. Hacking is one of the worst offenses. In severe cases, we may block access to the whole IP range of the offender.
- Bots and macros. Any use of automation software, bots, macros or third-party software is totally forbidden. Any type of AFK farming will also be judged under this rule.
- Bug abuse. Bug abuse is forbidden. Any bug must be reported immediately. Any advantage obtained from bug abuse may result in item removal and punishment.
- Animation cutting. Any form of animation cutting or canceling such as skillcut, runecut, mountcut or anythingcut is not allowed and will be treated like an exploit or hack.
- Stat padding. It is forbidden to die on purpose, kill your friend to raise kill numbers or use any dishonest method to increase death or kill counters. Players caught stat padding may be banned and have kills wiped.
- No real-money trading. Buying or selling items/accounts for real money, items/accounts from other servers or services outside Shaiya Online is not allowed.
- Fraud and scam. Staff is not responsible for your account security or transactions. If enough evidence is presented, scammers may be permanently suspended, but lost items may not be returned.
- Kill stealing. Kill stealing normal monsters is not considered an offense by itself, but repeated use can be seen as harassment and punished accordingly.
- Boss killing, boss raid and boss calls. All boss killings and raids must be called at least 3 times within your faction before attacking the boss. All members of the raid can be held accountable for the calling of a boss. Union Party must stay open so everyone can join.
- Boss raid party rules. It is against the rules to kick someone from your party while doing a boss unless that member is not helping or is AFK. You may close or kick joining members only if the boss HP is below 30%.
- Multiple boss raids. If 2 or more raids are going for the same boss, the smaller raid must join the bigger one so everyone can participate. Multiple raids on the same boss are not allowed.
- PvP raids and kicking members. All PvP must be done with an open raid. You may not have multiple raids or parties in the same PvP zone until your raid has at least 30 members. You may not kick members from your PvP raid unless they are not wearing equipment or are ignoring commands.
- PvP raid warning. Before kicking a player from a PvP raid, the player must be warned using union chat. If two or more raids are going, the smaller raid must join the bigger one so everyone can participate.
- 150 Slot Raid PvP rules. The leader of a union may block people from joining if the raid has 30 members and the leader cannot maintain more raids.
- Shared raid system. Players may create another union for PvP if another union does not allow more than 30 members. We use a shared raid system and people get kills from all created unions, so do not create drama because you were not accepted into the same union.
Account Rules
- Player obligations and rights. Each player must have their own account.
- Account limit. It is forbidden to have more than three accounts.
- Same IP address. If someone is playing with you from the same IP address, you should, if possible, tell the administration team to avoid account blocks.
- Party from same IP. When playing in a party from one IP address, or if your gameplay is suspicious to players or administration, you must be in a Discord voice channel so we can verify that real people are playing and not several accounts controlled by one person.
- Account ownership. Ownership of an account is determined by the email used to create it. If you play on an account and do not have access to that email, you may lose it if the original creator claims it.
- No account sharing. It is forbidden to use accounts of other players. A player who never shares their account will never lose items to account theft.
- Account theft. If you lose access to your account, use the linked email to claim it back. Admins are not responsible if you willingly shared account information or used an infected system, and items may not be returned.
- Account investigation. If an account is suspected in any way, admins have the right to log it without previous notification to the owner. Only admins have this right. Staff will never ask for personal information, so never share it in-game.
- Investigation bans. In case of an account theft investigation, admins may ban accounts for an undetermined time until the investigation is over.
- Character names. It is forbidden to create characters with names that refer to famous people in a socially significant, religious or political context, such as Putin, Navalny, Obama or Trump, as well as names that are provocative or rude.
- Starting equipment abuse. It is forbidden to create new characters specifically to sell their starting equipment or transfer values to another character.
Punishments and Reports
- Punishments. All rules are guidelines to preserve a fair and friendly experience on the server and its services. Punishments are decided according to these rules and staff judgment.
- First offense. You may receive a warning depending on the offense. You may also receive jail time or temporary suspension.
- Second offense. If you repeat the same mistake, punishment may include more jail time and/or temporary suspension.
- Third or more offenses. If you continue breaking the rules, expect extended jail time, temporary suspension or permanent suspension depending on the offense.
- Evidence for reports. To make a valid report, you must present hard evidence such as screenshots or videos. Reports based only on what someone says are not valid, except as reference if a solid report is made.
- Rules updating. It is your responsibility to check if the rules are up to date, as they may change from time to time.
